What is the function of the Expansion valve?

The refrigerant liquefied in the condenser is cooled by throttle expansion (adiabatic expansion with low temperature and low pressure)

It is a part that serves to cool the material.

⓵ Classification by use

1) Manual expansion valve: mainly used for ammonia plant

2) Constant pressure expansion valve: Mainly used for air conditioner (with capillary tube)

Capillary Tube

3) Temperature type automatic expansion valve: used for general refrigeration equipment

4) Electronic expansion valve: used for precision control refrigerator

5) Pilot Valve Thermostatic Expansion Valve: Used for large capacity refrigerator

6) Float switch expansion valve

⓶ Classification according to load of thermostatic expansion valve * Temperature internal pressure equalizing expansion valve *

1) Internal equalization type: Used when the pressure drop in evaporator is less than 0.14kg / cm2.

2) External equalization type: Used when the pressure drop in evaporator is more than 0.14.kg/cm2.

⓷ Thermostatic Expansion Valves

1) Gas-filled = gas encapsulated like refrigerant

2) Liquid-filled = gas sealed like refrigerant

3) Mixing liquid and gas = encapsulating refrigerant and other gases

⓸ Capillaries require airtight cleanliness within the cycle.

1) Do not install the receiver when installing capillary tube.

2) 0.8 ~ 2.8mm inner diameter is used, high and low pressure balance

The time is more than 3 minutes and a compressor delay time is required.

3) The longer the length is, the larger the pressure drop is.

4) The minimum amount of refrigerant is injected and is mainly used for 2 HP or less.
