Causes of scroll compressor overheating
Scroll Compressor Overheat Cause #1
Cause: Low-pressure side gas refrigerant filling.
* Refrigerant filling:
– Be sure to fill the high-pressure side of the system with liquid refrigerant.
– Do not fill the system with gas refrigerant on the suction side
• The compressor will overheat.
– If additional filling is required, pump to the suction side while the compressor is running.
Filling with a small amount of liquid refrigerant little by little.

Scroll Compressor Overheat Cause #2
Suction blockage
1. When using a compressor to vacuum the system
2. When using a compressor to recover oil from the system
3. Compressor test after closing or blocking the suction
4. Forgot to open the suction service valve or liquid solenoid valve
• Never set the low pressure switch below 0 Bar/ 0 Psig.
• Do not bypass the low pressure switch.
5. When pumping down low pressure below 0 Psig/0 Bar.
